Philippines, Japan and the United States end naval exercises in the South China Sea!
After neighboring countries announced the plan for the Huangyan Island National Nature Reserve, the Philippines, Japan and the United States ended their 11th multilateral maritime cooperation activity near Magalawa Island, in the waters between Palauig and Silanguin Islands in San Antonio City, Sorsogon Province.
Three of our naval vessels monitored the entire exercise from September 11 to 13.
The three countries publicly stated that the main content of the exercise included communication inspection drills for effective coordination; ocean domain awareness activities; anti-submarine warfare exercises; cross-deck landing exercises; and naval surface interception and clearance. The exercise also included tactical/standing officer drills, photo-taking exercises, passing exercises, and search and rescue exercises.
