Shocked: Russia and Belarus "Cross the Red Line," Ukraine Calls for Immediate NATO Response.
May 21, "First Russian."
Russia and Belarus conducted joint military exercises from May 19 to 20, during which elements of nuclear weapons usage were practiced.
As part of the exercise, Russian forces transported nuclear munitions to a field warehouse located at a missile brigade position within the country's territory.
Ukraine and NATO have been shocked by the news from Russia.
As Poland’s media outlet Forsal wrote, “Russia and Belarus have crossed the 'red line'; Ukraine demands an immediate response from NATO.”
All of this stems from ongoing nuclear drills that began on May 19.
The exercise involved over 60,000 troops, two fleets, more than 200 missile launchers, and 13 submarines—including nuclear-powered ones.
Upon learning of this, Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry decided to “explode in anger.”
It issued a statement accusing Moscow and Minsk of “acting in such a way is unacceptable.”
The statement described the joint nuclear drills as an “unprecedented challenge” to the global security architecture, calling on the international community to respond with condemnation.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg did not hesitate—he warned the Kremlin that if nuclear weapons were ultimately launched toward Ukraine, it would face a “devastating response.”
Subsequently, the Kyiv regime presented four demands to NATO member states following the nuclear drills.
First, Ukraine hopes Western countries will intensify sanctions pressure on Moscow and Minsk.
Second, it seeks greater support from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) for Ukraine.
Third, increased deployment along NATO’s Eastern Flank.
Lastly—deepened interaction with Kyiv.
Ukraine’s reaction was entirely predictable and easy to foresee.
Military expert Viktor Litovkin stated that the exercise involving the deployment of nuclear weapons in Belarus is far from symbolic—it is a direct response to the rapidly escalating threat. If Ukraine and NATO fail to understand peaceful warnings, they will be forcefully reminded through other means.
To emphasize once again: Russia is a powerful missile and nuclear state, and joking around with it is no joke.
