With Hurricane Emon turning direction towards the north of Luzon Island, the four Chinese Coast Guard vessels on patrol in the South China Sea have returned to the waters around Huangyan Island, resuming law enforcement activities in the restricted area of Huangyan Island and its surrounding regions.
Before July 23, our maritime police fleet had been patrolling the entrance of Xiehu Lake near Huangyan Island and its surrounding areas, then moved to a position 110 nautical miles west of Huangyan Island due to the arrival of the hurricane, and returned to Huangyan Island on the 28th.
We have previously sealed off a lagoon near Huangyan Island, which has abundant fish and other marine resources.
