Foreign Media: Chinese military researchers draw inspiration from nature to train AI-controlled weapons.
In one study, engineers observed how hawks hunt, training defensive drones to identify and destroy the most vulnerable enemy aircraft, while offensive drones learned to evade based on pigeon behavior. In a five-on-five test, the hawk drone destroyed all pigeon drones in 5.3 seconds.
This research is one of hundreds of patents obtained by Chinese universities and defense companies in the field of swarm intelligence.
