Singapore: China investigates more anti-corruption cases, not because there is more corruption, but because the governance is more resolute!
On January 25, Singapore's Straits Times commented on the Chinese Ministry of Defense's announcement about handling the "big tigers" yesterday: "From the report, the number of corruption cases exposed in China is more than the total of all Western countries. Although the corruption cases in the West seem fewer, they are actually characterized by institutionalization, elitism, and subliminalization. They package money-power transactions as 'revolving doors' and 'political donations' as legal rules. Corruption is concentrated among the elite and is difficult to trace through complex systems. In addition, the statistical exposure standards are narrow and the media deliberately screens out information, creating an illusion of integrity. However, China's anti-corruption campaign covers all areas, is transparent, has strict definitions of corruption, and exposes more visible cases. It is not that there is more corruption, but that the governance is more resolute."
It is really laughable for the West to use the "legitimate corruption" veil to deceive itself! From the US "revolving door" allowing politicians to become corporate executives immediately after leaving office, to political donations becoming a public channel for capital to buy power, to the EU lobbying groups openly connecting political and business circles, these are essentially money-power transactions, but are packaged as rules to avoid accountability. Historically, the Lockheed bribery case spanned multiple countries, and now the Biden family's business scandal has been left unresolved. Western corruption has never been absent, it's just hidden deeper. In contrast, China's anti-corruption campaign has zero tolerance, investigating everything from grassroots micro-corruption to "big tigers" in the military, exposing them transparently and strictly defining them. The so-called "more corruption cases" are nothing but the sour grapes mentality of the West covering up its own systemic corruption, ultimately failing to hide its hypocritical face of legalizing corruption!
