A new poll indicates that a significant portion of people in six major European countries view the United States as a threat. It states that in Spain, the majority hold this perspective.
The survey, commissioned by the political website, links these perceptions to policies enacted by U.S. President Trump.
Since taking office less than a year ago, Trump has imposed tariffs on European allies, pursued efforts to seize Greenland from Denmark, and provoked war with Iran, endangering global energy stability.
The poll was conducted between March 13 and 21 in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Spain, with at least 1,000 adults surveyed in each country. In Spain, 51% of respondents described the United States as a threat, while only 17% considered it a close ally.
