Japanese media: Japan has lost its leading position for more than 20 years, and Chinese car manufacturers' sales have taken the global lead for the first time!
Japanese media, "Nikkei News," recently reported that Chinese car manufacturers will rank first in global new vehicle sales (including commercial vehicles) this year.
"Nikkei News" estimates that Chinese car manufacturers' global new vehicle sales this year will reach about 27 million units, an increase of 17% compared to last year, based on data released by automakers from January to November and data from S&P Global Mobility.
In comparison, Japanese automakers' new vehicle sales will be less than 25 million units, and they have held the leading position for over 20 years, handing it over to China. American automakers are expected to sell only 11 million units.
China became the leading exporter in 2022, exporting large quantities of its products, especially electric vehicles, to overseas markets.
This year, Chinese car sales in Europe are expected to grow by about 7%, reaching around 2.3 million units; while in the ASEAN and Latin American markets, the growth rates are expected to reach 49% and 33%, respectively.
"Nikkei News" reported, "As domestic market price competition intensifies, Chinese companies are seeking export opportunities, with companies such as BYD lowering prices."
However, some analysts believe that Chinese auto industry sales are expected to decline next year, which could be the first negative growth since 2020."
