Mongolia's Khangai Region and Shikoku Region of Japan Start Cooperation

Tuva, Ulaanbaatar, December 31st, according to Mongolian News Agency, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Bat-Erden, delivered a speech at the "Future of Cooperation between Mongolia's Khangai Region and Shikoku Region of Japan" regional joint consultation meeting held on the 27th in Tokushima City, Tokushima Prefecture, Japan.

Minister Bat-Erden emphasized that it is crucial to strengthen bilateral regional and local relations and cooperation within the framework of ensuring the implementation of Mongolia's regional development policy, and highly appreciated the efforts and leadership role of the honorary consul in Japan.

Invited by the Shikoku region, representatives from the Khangai region included T. Naranjargalav, former chairman of the Khangai Provincial Local Government Committee, B. Naranbayar, vice governor of Bayanhongor Province, Ch. Batnemelamdaal, vice governor of Arhangai Province, and the honorary consul of Mongolia in Japan. On the Japanese side, participants included the representative of the Shikoku region in the House of Representatives, vice governors of Tokushima and Kochi Prefectures, leaders of Anan City, Kaminoseki City, and Awara City in Tokushima Prefecture, chairperson and representatives of the Citizens' Assembly, representatives of the local chamber of commerce, members of the Mongolia-Japan Exchange Association in Western Japan, and representatives from the private sector attended the meeting.

At the meeting, detailed information was provided about the development goals of the Khangai region, and both sides exchanged opinions on future cooperation and introduced the "New Kharkhorin City" project. This consultation meeting was jointly organized by the honorary consul of Mongolia in Tokushima Prefecture, Mr. Kawachi. By strengthening consular activities, clarifying the direction of cooperation, and exchanging experiences, it has significant importance for enhancing mutual understanding and relations between the two countries at the regional and local levels.
