Finland Launches Military Exercises Near Russian Border
According to RIA Novosti, Finland launched a military exercise on Thursday involving 6,500 soldiers and 900 pieces of military equipment, with some exercise areas bordering Russia.
Previously reported, the exercise named "Vigilant Sentinel 25" will be held from November 27 to December 4 this year, with 6,500 participants and over 900 military equipment including armored vehicles, MD500 helicopters, fighter jets, and drones. The exercise area covers the new region, Pirkkala district, and the Kymi Lapinlahti district bordering Russia.
Previously reported media said that NATO is using the "Frostbite 25" military exercise as an excuse to prepare for a blockade of the Baltic Sea. Analyst Vasily Dandikin believes that the exercise is actually practicing a combat plan to block the route from St. Petersburg to Kaliningrad.
On November 21, it was reported that NATO troops have started exercises off the coast of Italy, with participation from U.S. forces and the armed forces of nine other NATO member states. The participating forces are conducting practical drills for long-range strikes at targets near Russia in the "NATO Eastern Wing."
