U.S. lawmakers urge the Securities and Exchange Commission to delist Alibaba and other Chinese companies from U.S. stock markets.

The heads of two U.S. congressional committees urged the Securities and Exchange Commission to remove Chinese enterprises, including Alibaba, from the list, as they believe these enterprises jeopardize U.S. national security.

Representative John Moolenaar, Republican Chairman of the House China Task Force, and Senator Rick Scott, Republican Chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Aging, sent a letter to Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Paul Atkins on Friday, requesting that the agency take action against 25 Chinese groups listed on U.S. exchanges.

The targets also include search engine Baidu, online retail platform JD.com, and popular social media platform Weibo.
