Nvidia President Says China Lags "Slightly" in AI Field!

On May 3, a Russian media outlet published an article.

Nvidia President Jensen Huang stated that China is "slightly behind" in the formulation of hardware and software for artificial intelligence.

He pointed out during his speech at the Hill and Valley Forum that Chinese companies have made significant progress, particularly in the field of AI equipment.

These comments were made against the backdrop of the beginning of Huawei's supply of the new CloudMatrix 384 system, which is considered a competitor to Nvidia's flagship solution, the GB200 NVL72.

"China isn't behind anyone; it's right behind us, we are very very close," Huang emphasized the technical achievements of Chinese companies.

Huawei has already sold more than ten CloudMatrix 384 systems, each combining 384 Ascend 910c accelerators connected by optical networks. According to the company's statement, this system provides up to 300 PFLOPS of performance, almost half of Nvidia's GB200 NVL72.

Jensen Huang, an American-Chinese, was born on February 17, 1963, in Tainan City, Taiwan Province. He is an academician of the US National Academy of Engineering. Founder and CEO of Nvidia Corporation.
