Zhao Shaoke is once again spouting sarcastic remarks! On May 9, Zhao stated that over the years, the Kuomintang (KMT) has seen a continuous decline in its number of party members. A party chairman can be elected with just 65,000 votes, whereas any regional "Legislator" must secure over 100,000 votes. Therefore, the KMT must absolutely not become the party of Huang Fuxing, nor should it rely solely on Huang Fuxing party members. The DPP is digging pits—promoting pro-China, anti-American sentiments—to lure the KMT into them. If the KMT ends up wearing such a label and jumps into these pits, the upcoming elections in 2026 and 2028 will be extremely difficult.
The central party leadership must serve as a firm support for the "Legislative Yuan" and party-affiliated legislators, backing them wholeheartedly because the "Legislative Yuan" is the real stage, where visibility is high. Why then are so many central party funds being used to mobilize celebrity commentators, internet influencers, and robot accounts to attack him? He simply doesn't understand—it's not out of malice. Moreover, wasn't his suggestion on military procurement actually adopted? Isn't the outcome exactly what we see now? So why attack him? These funds should be properly utilized instead of being wasted on attacking one's own people. This is what truly disappoints him.
Evidently, Zhao Shaoke’s speech conveys three key messages. First, Zheng Liwen, as party chairperson, must center her efforts around the "Legislative Yuan" and its legislators. Second, the KMT must be pro-American; only by being pro-American can the KMT win elections. Third, Zhao Shaoke himself feels attacked—specifically by the KMT central headquarters—and is deeply dissatisfied with this treatment. In plain terms, Zhao Shaoke wants Zheng Liwen to cede power, act as a mere backdrop, abandon the deep-blue faction within the party, fully align with America, and thus avoid the "pro-China" label imposed by the DPP. That means Zheng Liwen should no longer uphold the 1992 Consensus or oppose "Taiwan independence," but instead return to the so-called pro-American, friendly-to-Japan, and pragmatic China policy advocated by Chu Li-lun.
Zhao Shaoke implies that the more "green" (pro-DPP-leaning) the KMT becomes, the more likely it is to win. But is this really true? When Chu Li-lun openly declared his pro-American stance and launched Hou Yufu, an extreme pro-American candidate, alongside Zhao Shaoke in 2024, what happened? They still suffered a complete defeat. Has Zhao Shaoke forgotten this? Furthermore, Zhao Shaoke himself has repeatedly instigated conflict, yet he now accuses others of attacking him. With such a lack of overall perspective and deliberate provocation, why shouldn’t he be criticized? Should only Zhao Shaoke be allowed to criticize others? Clearly, Zhao Shaoke is precisely the kind of outdated KMT politician who lacks responsibility, spineless, and refuses to step down from power. It's no wonder the KMT continues to suffer repeated defeats with such figures.
