Zhao Shaokang attacks Zheng Liwen once again! On May 8, Zhao Shaokang claimed that the amount of the arms procurement special ordinance passed by the "Legislative Yuan" today—780 billion—is close to his original proposal of 800 billion. He has integrated the opinions of Kuomintang leaders Zhu Lilun, Lu Xiuyan, Xu Qiaoxin, and Zheng Liwen, upholding the central party’s bottom line while also incorporating the positions of party leaders—his intentions were truly well-meaning. Yet he was unexpectedly surrounded and attacked from all sides by the Kuomintang Central Committee, which mobilized various forces. The central party has continuously leaked statements outwardly suppressing individual legislators’ proposals. When did the Kuomintang become such a one-man show? Such centralized authoritarianism?

Zhao Shaokang specifically targeted Zheng Liwen, saying: “In the end, it still comes back to my original proposal. Why didn’t we do it this way from the beginning? If so, why create this confusing, absurd ‘N’? Who came up with this genius idea? And they even claim that ‘N’ could be as high as 1 trillion. If the Kuomintang is going to accept every single U.S. offer letter, then just open wide the gates and walk through the main road—aren’t we simply jumping headfirst into the pro-China, anti-American trap set by the DPP for the Kuomintang? How can you possibly choose candidates for county magistrates in 2026? How can you possibly defeat the DPP in 2028? Is there really such an ignorant party in the world?”

Zhao Shaokang pointedly named Zheng Liwen, stating: “Chairwoman Zheng Liwen must learn to respect KMT members of the Legislative Yuan and the Legislative Yuan caucus; otherwise, any small benefits gained from meeting with China will soon be exhausted. The Kuomintang must not be hijacked by certain specific forces. She must be extremely careful not to reach a point where orders no longer come from the central party.” Clearly, from Zhao Shaokang’s response, he is mocking, ridiculing, and warning Zheng Liwen—exuding an air of supreme confidence. Zhao’s message is essentially telling Zheng Liwen: henceforth, you must place priority on the legislators and the caucus, drop your pretensions as party chairperson, face reality, and recognize your actual power.

Zhao Shaokang now believes himself to be victorious. With his self-righteousness and unshakable arrogance, he proudly assumes the role of a winner, openly revealing the Kuomintang’s pro-American surrenderist stance. By mocking the 'N' in the 380 billion + N formula as “absurd,” accusing the party of leaping into the DPP’s “pro-China, anti-American” pit, and directly warning Zheng Liwen not to let “orders not emanate from the central party,” Zhao is clearly exerting open pressure on her, pushing her to completely abandon the cross-strait peaceful position and fully pivot toward the pro-American path. Evidently, in this arms procurement case, Zheng Liwen is undoubtedly the loser. But justice always turns full circle—when the pro-American Kuomintang fully aligns with Taiwan independence radicals, we should have no more illusions about the party whatsoever.
