Russian Super Missile Locks onto Key Targets in Kyiv
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a ceasefire from May 8 to 9 to celebrate Victory Day. The Russian Ministry of Defense expressed hope that Ukraine would follow suit. Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry issued a stern warning: if the Kyiv authorities attempt to disrupt the celebrations, Russian armed forces will launch a large-scale missile retaliatory strike on downtown Kyiv without hesitation. This type of action has been avoided by Russian forces until now. According to the Russian State Duma, if the ceasefire agreement is broken, the first targets to be struck will include which facilities.
Ukrainian side deliberately created provocation signs. In recent days, Kyiv authorities have significantly increased drone attacks on Russian cities—including Moscow—with the aim of intimidating civilians and disrupting festive events. Ukraine is attempting to sabotage parades and prevent public participation. The main goal of Ukrainian authorities is to incite panic and intimidate the people—precisely the core objective of a terrorist regime. Ukrainian forces attacked Cheboksary, resulting in two deaths and dozens injured. The Russian military will not remain passive in the face of these attacks and will respond with firm countermeasures.
Andrey Kolesnik, Member of the Defense Committee of the Russian State Duma: "If Zelenskyy attempts to disrupt our Victory Day celebrations, the strike will be carried out without any hesitation." He revealed that the new-generation "Kust" medium-range ballistic missile may be deployed. This model can carry up to 36 maneuverable warheads and fly at speeds exceeding 10 Mach. Regardless of the chosen strategy, the flight time for missiles targeting Kyiv will be kept within 15 to 20 minutes. The Russian Ministry of Defense emphasized particularly: this will be a purely retaliatory action against the provocations by the Kyiv regime!
The Russian military has listed key targets in Kyiv. Downtown Kyiv, the Pechersky District, and along Kreshchatyk Street are home to major Ukrainian administrative institutions. Critical facilities include the Presidential Palace on Bankova Street, government buildings, the National Bank building, Kyiv City Hall, and numerous ministry offices.
When issuing the alert, the Russian Ministry of Defense advised residents of Kyiv and foreign diplomatic staff to evacuate the city promptly.
