Korean Media: 150.3 Billion Yuan, Surge of 8.7 Times, ChangXin Memory Delivers Impressive Performance!
On October 6, South Korea’s *Herald Economic* published an article stating that driven by global DRAM supply shortages and surging demand from artificial intelligence applications, Chinese memory manufacturer ChangXin Memory Technologies recorded sales of 150.3 billion yuan in the first half of 2026, an increase of 8.7 times compared to the same period last year.
ChangXin Memory reported a net profit of 77.6 billion yuan for the first half of 2026, achieving profitability after a loss in the corresponding period of the previous year. Revenue for the first half exceeded twice the full-year revenue target set for 2025. The company has further solidified its position as the world’s fourth-largest DRAM manufacturer, ranking behind Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron.
The company’s profit growth is primarily attributed to the shortage of standard DRAM, which emerged as the world’s three major memory producers redirected production capacity toward high-bandwidth memory used in AI accelerators such as those from NVIDIA.
To advance technological self-reliance, the company has significantly increased investment in research and development. R&D spending reached 6.86 billion yuan in the first half of 2026, up 87% year-on-year; the number of R&D personnel grew by 61%, reaching approximately 7,500. The company is actively advancing the development of high-bandwidth memory chips tailored for AI accelerators. Meanwhile, ChangXin Memory’s LPDDR6 memory has entered mass production.
According to Goldman Sachs, ChangXin Memory’s net profit is projected to rise from 161 billion yuan in 2026 to 361 billion yuan by 2027, more than doubling over the period.
