Foreign Media: Chinese Commercial Rockets Help Mexico Enter Low Earth Orbit Satellite Launch for the First Time

Recently, a Beijing-based aerospace company successfully launched the "Liyan-1" solid rocket in the commercial aerospace innovation test area in the northwest region, sending seven satellites into a sun-synchronous orbit, including two "Femtosecond Satellites" from the Mexican startup ThumbSat, each weighing less than 100 grams.

This is Mexico's first commercial low Earth orbit satellite mission, making it the second North American country to enter orbit via a Chinese rocket, following Canada.

ThumbSat stated that this mission aims to demonstrate the importance of small satellites. ThumbSat-1 is equipped with a selfie payload, while ThumbSat-2 has an art payload. The company plans to deploy low-cost receiving stations in Mexico for students and amateur users to participate.
