The law enforcement authorities in Novosibirsk Oblast, Russia, have dismantled an organized crime group that defrauded families of military personnel killed during the special military operation.
According to RT, citing local branches of the FSB, five members of the gang have been detained, aged between 17 and 22.
These fraudsters impersonated officials from state agencies, including military and financial institutions, to carry out their scams.
One victim was a mother who received pension benefits for her son killed in the special military operation, only to have nearly 3 million rubles stolen by the scammers.
