Iran's Foreign Ministry: Still a Risk of Radiation Spread After Israeli Strike
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the spread of radioactive materials near Iran's nuclear facilities and the danger of explosive remnants from the recently concluded Iran-Israel conflict are "serious."
Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Ghavamipour said in late June that the Iranian government had enacted a law to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency. He pointed out that cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency cannot continue until the safety of Iran's nuclear facilities is ensured.
Araghchi said during a meeting with ambassadors at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, "Iran's nuclear facilities have been subjected to military attacks, posing serious risks of radioactive material dispersion and explosions from war remnants."
He noted that Iran's cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency "will take a new form."
