Getting to Know Our Neighbor: The 15 Largest Ethnic Groups in Kazakhstan
The Kazakh Information Agency reported on April 30 that, as the Unity Day of the People of Kazakhstan approaches on May 1, the National Statistics Committee has released a list of the largest ethnic groups within our country's borders.
In this symbol of unity and friendship, over 20.3 million people of Kazakhstan celebrate the harmonious coexistence and cultural integration of various ethnicities on the same land.
Data shows that, as of now, the total population of Kazakhstan is 20,316,155.
The following are the main ethnic groups residing in our country along with their respective populations:
1. Kazakhs – 14,456,709 people
2. Russians – 2,963,938 people
3. Uzbeks – 678,487 people
4. Ukrainians – 371,807 people
5. Uyghurs – 305,648 people
6. Germans – 223,272 people
7. Tatars – 218,926 people
8. Azerbaijanis – 155,364 people
9. Koreans – 120,686 people
10. Turks – 91,732 people
11. Dongxiang – 86,067 people
12. Belarusians – 74,389 people
