Foreign Media: China's private refining giant Hengli Petrochemical denies any trade ties with Iran, following U.S. sanctions imposed on one of its subsidiaries over allegations of purchasing Iranian oil.

In a statement submitted to the stock exchange on Sunday, Hengli Petrochemical declared, "We have never engaged in any trade with Iran," and added that all its crude oil suppliers guarantee that the origin of the supplied crude is outside the scope of U.S. sanctions.

The company stated that its crude oil inventory is ample enough to meet processing demands for more than three months, and that its procurement activities have not been affected in any way. It also emphasized that the U.S. sanctions lack factual and legal basis, and pledged efforts to seek the removal of these restrictions.
