Foreign media: China's maturity in gallium nitride (GaN) semiconductor technology has given it a strategic advantage in the global arms race.

Differing from the obvious measures taken by the United States to restrict China's access to advanced chips, China's export controls on key raw materials such as gallium and germanium have become a "silent sanction" against the U.S. semiconductor industry, especially its defense capabilities. These measures, justified under the guise of national security and fair trade, take advantage of China's near-monopoly position in the production of critical materials needed for next-generation military electronic equipment.

This enables China to deploy advanced phased array radar systems in its armed forces at a speed and scale that the United States cannot match.
