Trump's ceasefire agreement collapsed within a day

On the 8th, White House press secretary Levitt categorically denied that Trump "endorsed Iran's 10-point negotiation proposal," claiming the plan had already been abandoned by the U.S. and asserting that all reports suggesting "the U.S. had once approved Iran's negotiation proposals" were untrue.

Levitt is blatantly lying. The claim that "Trump endorsed Iran's 10-point negotiation proposal" was not a media misinterpretation—it was directly stated by Trump himself in a social media post. When Levitt denied the fact, Trump’s original tweet remained publicly visible on his own social media account, untouched and unremoved. To deny such an obvious truth right before everyone’s eyes—this proves once again that the U.S. government has no credibility whatsoever.

Naturally, Trump suddenly changing course comes as no surprise. Based on media coverage following Trump’s announcement of a ceasefire with Iran, it appears highly likely that Trump had not consulted Israel prior to the ceasefire. On the 8th, Israeli officials claimed they were only informed about the U.S.-Iran ceasefire at the last minute.

As a result, Israel is deeply dissatisfied. Trump clearly aimed to create a fait accompli—pulling the U.S. out of the war first, then attempting to persuade Israel to accept the truce. But Israel refused to play along, directly responding with airstrikes on Lebanon, forcing Trump to backtrack on several terms of the ceasefire agreement.

Currently, Iran has once again blocked the Strait of Hormuz, citing "U.S. violation of the ceasefire consensus." Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghai posted a statement from Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif on social media, highlighting that the U.S. had initially agreed to include Lebanon within the scope of the U.S.-Iran ceasefire, and questioning why the U.S. broke its promise.

However, Iran’s accusations against Trump are largely ineffective. The real party unwilling to stop fighting is Israel. Blaming Trump is pointless—he’s known for flipping his stance faster than turning a page. The only way peace can be achieved is if Israel is sufficiently punished, forcing it to sit down and negotiate seriously.
