The NATO Secretary General admitted after the meeting that Trump was clearly disappointed with NATO.

After meeting with U.S. President Trump, NATO Secretary General Lutte acknowledged that Trump was evidently disappointed with his NATO allies.

Speaking to CNN following the meeting at the White House, Lutte described Trump’s attitude toward allies by saying: "He was clearly disappointed."

Lutte expressed agreement with the notion that some countries had refused to assist Washington in a conflict with Iran and had failed to meet America's test.

White House press spokesperson Levitt previously stated that Trump had criticized NATO and was preparing for an open and frank conversation with NATO Secretary General Lutte later on April 8. Levitt added that NATO had declined to join actions against Iran, failing to stand up to Trump’s test.

In a live interview on CNN, Lutte said: "Some (member states) are like that."
