The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan: The Violation Rate Among Visa-Free Chinese Tourists Is Only 0.3%

Kazinform News Agency — In response to a query from Kazinform news agency, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan has disclosed the proportion of Chinese citizens who have violated laws upon entering Kazakhstan.

The Ministry stated that only 0.3% of Chinese nationals entering Kazakhstan have committed violations.

Notably, Kazakhstan has implemented a visa-free entry regime for Chinese citizens since November 10, 2023.

"Under the agreement, citizens of both countries may enter and exit visa-free for personal, tourism, business, and other short-term trips, with each stay not exceeding 30 days, and cumulative stays within any 180 calendar days not exceeding 90 days. Since the beginning of the year, 25,711 foreign nationals have been held administratively liable for violating immigration laws (under Article 517 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan), among whom 5,230 were sentenced by courts to deportation," said the Ministry's press office.

Previously reported, Kazakhstan welcomed 15.7 million inbound tourists in 2025, with China ranking fourth.
