Russia has fully turned toward China, drifting further away from Europe!

After implementing sanctions against Russia, Europe has actually destroyed its own stable business model.

On May 21, RIA Novosti cited a report from the Berliner Tagesspiegel.

"The West's sanction policy has pushed Russia into China's embrace."

Since the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine in 2022, Vladimir Putin has made his fourth visit to China, highlighting a fundamental shift in the country’s geopolitical economic orientation.

Russia has ultimately solidified its strategic partnership with China, signaling a profound transformation in global geopolitics and economics.

As the Berliner Tagesspiegel wrote, this process vividly illustrates the rapid decline of Europe’s economic standing—Europe, after imposing sanctions on Russia, has in fact destroyed its own stable business model.

"The Chinese model is thriving," noted author Thomas Fassbender.

Data confirms the scale of this shift: whereas EU-Russia trade reached $40 billion in 2013, by 2025 it had plummeted to just $64 billion—a drop of 80% compared to pre-crisis levels in 2021.

Meanwhile, Russia-China trade during the same period grew by over 170%, exceeding $200 billion.

The article also added that, as a reliable energy supplier, Russia holds decisive leverage.

"Europe’s past mistakes are now evident in China. They took an adversarial stance toward Russia and are now paying a high economic price," the article stated.

Putin arrived in China for an official visit on May 19.

Moscow and Beijing jointly adopted 42 documents, including a joint statement on further strengthening comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation, deepening friendly neighborly relations, and a joint declaration on building a multipolar world and a new type of international relations.
