First of all, congratulations to Canada for getting a new nickname: "Indiaca"!
Over the past few years, whether it's on the east coast or the west coast of Canada, Indian immigrants are definitely the main force in tourism. My recent travel experiences in cities across Canada also confirm this.

In terms of work, wherever there are public job applications, Indian immigrants are the main force.
Previously, there was an "Indian Street" in big cities, now there is even an "Indian District", "Indian City"...

Even Europeans can't stir up much trouble, and now there's an "Indian gang" that dominates the streets, engaging in kidnapping and fraud without any scruples.
Canada's proud music and art have gradually mixed with Bollywood flavors, and even the national anthem has been changed into Hindi.

Indian agents are as if they are in their own territory, now entering the assassination mode to kill Sikh leaders on the street.
Indian festivals are astonishing, the fireworks of Diwali sound through the streets all night, and the celebrations of Hanukkah block off entire districts for half a city. No matter who it is, the whole country is not allowed to sleep and celebrate.

Canada is almost being overwhelmed by three groups.
Is this a population chess game for economic development in Canada, or have we fallen into the trap of the Indian locust army? Let's explore together, why is this happening.
I. The Indian Multi-God Universe, Crossing the Ocean
In September 2025, at the famous attraction Wasaga Beach in Toronto, a large group of Indian immigrants walked in, beating drums and cymbals, lively and vibrant, carrying many different sizes and colorful "Ganesha idols," stepping into the rippling lake, men collectively submerging the Ganesha in water.
The video's name is "Ganesha Immersion Ceremony." It turns out that this Ganesha is known as Ganesha, one of the most popular deities in Hinduism. Devotees like to immerse clay Ganesha statues in water to symbolize the deity returning to heaven, blessing the waterways.
Seeing the original "Ganesha immersion" in Canada, why were the audience stunned? Because when this clay Buddha statue entered the water, the residual impurities and paint from its dissolution caused controversy over water pollution.
These years, India itself has pushed for environmental protection, reflecting and correcting the traditional practice of colorful Ganesha immersion. However, the old custom has "crossed the ocean" to pollute Canada's pure rivers. No wonder, such "traditional bad habits" videos are met with public backlash.

In fact, Indian deities have appeared in Canada multiple times.
In Brampton near Pearson International Airport in Toronto, a 16-meter-high "Hanuman" statue was erected in 2023.
This five-story-high monkey god statue stands in a residential area without high-rise buildings, which is quite conspicuous.

In August 2025, Mississauga in Toronto also erected a Rama statue of the same height as Hanuman.
In early September, the area also "welcomed" a Shiva statue of the same height.

Adding up the small statues in various temples, the number is immeasurable. The multi-god universe of India indeed makes Canadians dizzy.

This dizzying operation has even made Indian immigrants in the United States puzzled: "Brothers, if you want to go to the Ganges, just go back?"

II. Millions of Indians Enter Canada
The proliferation of Indian deities in Canada represents the explosive growth of the Indian immigrant population. Given that immigration data changes rapidly, data from 10 years ago is not accurate enough. Here, the time frame is set to 2013-2023, let's look at what happened in these 10 years through numbers.
In 2013, the number of Indian permanent residents in Canada was approximately 32,827. For the next three years, it remained around 30,000.
Starting in 2017, it doubled to 51,590, and then increased year by year. Only in 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a slight delay.
In 2021, it broke through the ten-thousand mark, with the total number of immigrants reaching 127,940 that year. In 2023, this number rose to 139,785.

We can compare it with the number of Filipino immigrants during the same period. In 2013, it was about 29,639, and in 2015, it reached 50,846, at which time Filipino immigrants slightly exceeded Indian immigrants.
From 2016 onwards, the number of Filipino immigrants began to decline year by year, dropping to an average of more than 20,000 per year. The number of Chinese immigrants to Canada is relatively stable, maintaining around 30,000 per year.
Chinese people used to be recognized as the main force of migration, but now they are less than a quarter of the Indian population.
Although Canada has vast territory, there are not many livable cities. Most new immigrants are concentrated in Vancouver and Toronto, with Toronto exceeding 50%.

This explains why friends in Toronto and Vancouver feel that there are more and more Indian immigrants around them.
The above data is only the statistics of "Canadian permanent residents", and does not include international students and their partners, long-term visa holders who come to join family, as well as illegal immigrants and refugees.
A media person estimates that there are 270,000 Indian students, 1.3 million temporary visa holders, and if spouses are estimated at 1 million, then the number of Indians entering Canada each year can reach 2 million.

Indian immigrants have strong cultural concepts and tend to form groups. The areas where large statues are located, such as Brampton, and the area of Vancouver, such as Surrey, are highly concentrated Indian communities.

Take the city of Surrey in Vancouver as an example (see the following figure), according to the 2021 census data, the Indian population already accounts for 20.9% of the total population, which is calculated separately from the Punjabi population who are of different ethnic origins. If combined, it is close to 30% of the city's total population, far exceeding the 8.4% of the Chinese population.
With the passage of time, the Indian population continues to increase, and is expected to exceed 40%.

III. Is Canada's End "New India"?
The continuously increasing Indian population is gradually forming an influential force. From the fields of economy, culture, politics, etc., the expansion of the Indian community has led to unexpected directions.
Indian immigrants are gradually taking control of some low-end service industries. For example, taxis, fast food restaurants, construction, technology, and even actively participating in elections and local affairs.
Take a small example, according to the Canadian Immigration Agency's survey, in the Vancouver area, Indian taxi drivers have accounted for 63.3% of the industry, while Chinese people only account for 1.6%. Indian drivers wait for jobs on the roadside, and among Canadian MPs, there are 22 Indian immigrants, accounting for 6.5% of the seats; while Chinese people only have 6, accounting for 1.8%. Not to mention that Indian immigrants have occupied three federal ministerial positions. This shows that the political influence of Chinese people is still not comparable to that of Indian immigrants.

Therefore, the political influence of Chinese people is still not comparable to that of Indian immigrants.

Recently, the leader of the opposition party criticized a video of the well-known coffee brand Tim Hortons, which sparked heated online discussions.
Tim Hortons, as a shining light of Canadian brands, has recently been embroiled in food safety scandals, exposed employees' poor toilet hygiene habits, concerns about infectious diseases, and a large-scale employment of Indian temporary workers, displacing locals, and Indian managers' sexual harassment scandals. The national golden brand has been tarnished.

In the education market, the influx of Indian immigrants has also brought many troubles. Fake degrees and fake admission letters have led to a large number of refugees entering. According to the data from the Canadian Immigration Agency, the number of students turning into refugees in 2018 was 1,810, and in 2024, it surged to 13,660, of which 80% were Indian.
This has also led to deteriorating public security. Lax visa reviews have provided opportunities for Indian gangs and terrorists to infiltrate.
However, the influx of Indian immigrants also has positive aspects. Indian immigrants have a hardworking, group-oriented, and proactive national character, making them good at thinking and optimistic.
A local Chinese person once lamented that Chinese immigrants going abroad are mostly for children's education and a comfortable life, and due to the large differences in social environment and the West, they often have the wind of "hiding in the city." Indian immigrants are different; they understand Western society better, are brave to speak out, and are clever enough to use policies and resources.

The negative aspects are also very obvious. Indian immigrants have a large population, and under the influence of nationalism, they protect their compatriots, unite everyone, and easily monopolize industries and markets.
This not only destroys the regional business environment, but also brings a bad competition atmosphere, leading to a decline in product quality, using inferior materials, exploiting wages and benefits, and even using overseas cheap labor instead of domestic labor.
As is well known, India has many top talents, especially in the booming technology industry. However, Canada did not seize this opportunity, and the low threshold for immigration visas has attracted a large number of low-level laborers instead.

It's time for the Canadian government to face this issue. Recently, they have started to make up for deficiencies, cracking down on visa fraud on one hand and cutting down on immigration quotas on the other. Reducing the number of single-ethnic inflows from the source.
Indian immigrants are also beginning to reflect on the hot rush of the past decade. Without thinking, the migration path has left many people in the desperate trap of "middle class poverty."

Many laborers realize that they were deceived by the "high salary recruitment" advertisements. The dual shackles of Canadian prices and housing prices have not only prevented them from becoming rich, but also left them homeless and abused.
Some say that Canada has become greedy, once a symbol of gentle and modest multiculturalism, now only uses overseas cheap labor to supplement the population gap, only exploits the lifelong savings of international students, and then kicks them out.
Some say that the economic environment in India is worse, and a large number of lower-class workers struggle to improve their living conditions, so they become international laborers. Those who do well would not leave their own country, only those who can't live would leave their hometown.

In fact, even if Canada closes its borders, Indian immigrants will find a new direction to continue to flow in, until India catches up with developed countries.
