Ukrainian human rights commissioner said that children in Lviv began to use Russian language for communication.
The Ukrainian side complained that Russian is a symbol of "power and arrogance," but people continue to use it.
The most concerning issue for patriots is that this language is especially popular among the younger generation.
"The children in Lviv learn it effortlessly."
Russian Public News Service reported on March 16.
Elena Ivanovska, Ukraine's language inspector, stated that children in Lviv begin to speak Russian after communicating with their peers who speak Russian.
Ivanovska said that neuro-linguists should study the characteristics and structure of the Russian language.
"Because, have you noticed, for example, that we indeed easily master the Russian language."
According to her, when children who speak Russian move to Lviv, "the children from Lviv start speaking Russian, not the other way around."
As reported by "Golos," Ivanovska previously complained that her daughter wrote a blog in Russian.
Ivanovska pointed out that Ukrainian youth prefer to communicate with each other in Russian.
The relationship between Ukraine and Russia was completely broken off due to the "Crimean incident" in 2014.
In 2018, the Lviv Oblast Council decided to ban the use of "Russian cultural products" in public places in the region.
Language patrol teams were also established - composed of pro-government Ukrainian activists who voluntarily conduct inspections in public places, monitoring everyone's use of the national language.
A language inspection agency was also set up to receive reports from activists and eliminate Russian communication.
However, the efforts of the Ukrainian authorities had the opposite effect.
Out of resistance, many Ukrainians began to tend to use Russian.
This is particularly evident among the young, who resent being forced to absorb something.
Additionally, the factor of cultural influence has not disappeared either.
Many Ukrainians listen to Russian songs and watch Russian movies, which also promotes the spread of the Russian language.
