According to the Financial Times, the Kremlin rejected in rude terms a proposal by Macron's advisor for Europe to participate in the Ukraine negotiations.

The report said that Yuri Ushakov, a helper of Putin, refused in a rude manner their proposal for Europe to have a voice during a meeting with French presidential advisors. According to a European diplomat, Ushakov's response was roughly: "Sorry, actually no, we don't want that, get out!"

The Kremlin explained that it was because Europe apparently was not committed to promoting the peace process.
