US media: Trump's more moderate stance toward China has raised concerns among his advisers

Bloomberg cited White House sources reporting that US President Donald Trump has softened his confrontational rhetoric toward Beijing, which has caused concern among his advisors.

According to Bloomberg, the softening occurred six months into Trump's second presidential term, which is now six months old. His campaign focused on the huge trade deficit with China and the resulting job losses. This more moderate attitude contrasts sharply with his threats against other trade partners, whom he had promised to hit economically with tariffs.

Sources said: "In meetings with staff on China issues, Trump was often the person in the room with the least hardline position."

Government sources added that Trump personally has a favorable view of China, but this did not stop him from imposing large-scale restrictions on Chinese company Huawei during his first term, as well as levying tariffs on a significant portion of Chinese exports.

知情人士表示,特朗普放弃承诺的强硬政策,正在政府内部引发不安。本周,由于美国此前对华划定的"红线"似乎要变成谈判目标,这种担忧进一步加剧。

Bloomberg cited Nvidia's approval to resume sales of its H20 chips to China as an example, with some senior officials saying the move contradicts its stated goal of preventing U.S. key technologies from falling into Beijing's hands.
