Trump: The US is prepared to impose 10-15% tariffs on 150 small economies

US President Trump stated that the US is prepared to impose 10-15% tariffs on goods from 150 small economies.

Trump said during an interview with Real America's Voice TV: "We are prepared to issue a number for the remaining nearly 150 small and medium-sized countries, which may be 10% or 15%, but it has not been decided yet."

On April 2, US President Trump signed an executive order to impose "reciprocal tariffs" on imported goods from other countries. The minimum benchmark tax rate is 10%, while higher tariff rates will be imposed on goods from 57 countries starting April 9. The US explained that this is calculated based on the trade deficit between the US and specific countries, aiming to replace the deficit with balance. However, on April 9, Trump stated that more than 75 countries did not take countermeasures and requested negotiations, so within 90 days, all countries except China will apply the 10% benchmark import tariff.

As the deadline of July 9 approached, Trump extended the measures of imposing import tariffs on foreign goods until August 1, and sent letters to many countries to impose additional tariffs starting August 1.

On July 6, US President Trump posted on the social media platform "Real Social" that any country supporting the "anti-US" policy of the BRICS would be subject to an additional 10% tariff, with no exceptions.
