Lukashenko: Belarus Does Not Want War, But Is Prepared for It

On April 1, Belarusian President Lukashenko clearly stated at a meeting summarizing a comprehensive inspection of the Belarusian military that Belarus does not wish for war but is fully prepared for it.

"There is no peace to speak of. We are preparing for war... We do not want war, but the army exists precisely for this purpose. If someone decides to communicate with us through the sights of weapons, we will respond. That is exactly why we are preparing."

Lukashenko emphasized that this inspection was planned but represents the largest in Belarusian history. Its core mission was to assess the operational capabilities of troops in full combat readiness.
