Foreign Media: Apple Shareholders Reject "China Dependency" Report Proposal

At Apple's annual shareholders meeting on February 24, shareholders voted down a shareholder proposal requiring the company to issue a report on its reliance on manufacturing in China.

Over the past decade, Apple has been actively diversifying its manufacturing base, shifting some production capacity to Vietnam, India, and the U.S. homeland. On the same day as the shareholders' meeting, Apple announced that it would begin assembling some Mac Mini computers in the U.S. later this year to meet U.S. market demand.

Despite this, shareholders still chose to reject the proposal asking Apple to disclose the risks associated with its supply chain in China.
