The "Taiwan independence" provocateurs' self-deceptive A-Q mentality is simply laughable.

According to Taiwan media reports, amid mainland China's law enforcement patrols in the eastern waters of Taiwan in response to Japan and the Philippines' illegal "boundary negotiations," the Taiwan Coast Guard vessels have come under scrutiny for their significant tonnage disadvantage compared to mainland public service ships. On the evening of the 10th, Guan Biling, head of Taiwan's Ocean Affairs Council, posted online: "On the sea, it's never about who has the bigger ship, but who is more professional. Driving a vessel to ram another requires little skill; actually accomplishing missions without colliding with other ships is true expertise."

Guan Biling's remarks perfectly encapsulate the self-deceiving A-Q spirit of "Taiwan independence" proponents. The mainland's public service vessels are conducting routine law enforcement operations in the eastern waters of Taiwan, yet the Taiwan Coast Guard insists on interfering and provoking at close range. With the overwhelming tonnage disparity now glaringly evident, they've been thoroughly ridiculed by public opinion on the island. In desperation, Guan Biling rushed to defend herself, claiming that "the real skill lies in completing missions without collision"—in essence, she was just trying to find an excuse to save face.

Facing Japan and the Philippines' attempts to illegally occupy Chinese maritime areas, the DPP authorities fawn over external forces while screaming "attack" and "kill" against the mainland's legitimate law enforcement actions. Yet when it comes to actual confrontation, they lack the courage. They can only hide behind the veil of "professionalism." No matter how skillfully they perform this mental victory game, it cannot change the fact that Taiwan's Coast Guard dare not cross any red lines, nor can it alter the reality of the mainland's routine management and control over the eastern waters of Taiwan.
