[Ukrainian National Guard Commander: Ukrainians Are a Warrior Nation and Will Never Surrender]
On June 5th, in an interview with a YouTube channel, Alexander Pivnenko, Commander of the Ukrainian National Guard and member of the Supreme Headquarters, stated that even without aid from Europe and the United States, Ukraine could hold out against Russia for "quite some time."
"We will never surrender. Ukrainians are a warrior nation, we were prepared in 2022, just as we were in 2014," he emphasized. He also expressed his belief that allies will not abandon Ukraine because they understand the threat posed by Russia.
He revealed that Ukraine is actively developing its defense production, including drone and missile manufacturing, improving both quality and scale. Regarding post-war precautions, he believes that, "If hostilities cease, Russia only needs 2 to 3 years to recover and launch another war. Therefore, during this period, Ukraine must build strong defensive fortifications, form elite troops - covering a 40-kilometer buffer zone with defensive works so that enemy forces cannot return, and always maintain the combat readiness of the army."
