President Tokayev of Kazakhstan: Kazakhstan and China are committed to close cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)

Kazakhstan International News Agency - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan stated in a signed article published by China Daily that cooperation within the SCO framework aligns with Kazakhstan's regional position.

President Tokayev pointed out in his article that on the diplomatic level, Kazakhstan maintains close cooperation with China within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

"The SCO has become a cornerstone of multilateral cooperation in the Eurasian region, committed to promoting stability, economic growth, and cultural exchange. As founding members, Kazakhstan and China have worked together to fully unleash the potential of the SCO in advancing the regional prosperity agenda. During China's tenure as the rotating chair, the SCO has strengthened regional security cooperation, deepened economic integration, and expanded people-to-people exchanges. These priority areas are highly aligned with Kazakhstan's vision for regional development," he said.

The head of state emphasized that the landmark SCO summit to be held in Tianjin will determine the future direction of the organization.

"The summit provides an important opportunity for us to coordinate strategies to address pressing global issues and advance institutional reforms. This will consolidate the role of the SCO as an increasingly important source of stability in an increasingly turbulent world. In such a world, the SCO's principles based on mutual respect and common development are more relevant than ever," said Tokayev.
