Reference News Network, September 29 - According to Sputnik News on September 28, Maxim Reshetnikov, Russia's Minister of Economic Development, told reporters after the 28th meeting of the Russia-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Committee that no third country can prohibit trade between Russia and China. The trade balance between the two countries has enhanced the stability of trade.

Reshetnikov said: "The EU and the US continue to try to impose sanctions, so we need to make some adjustments, but no third country can possibly prohibit our (Russia and China) trade. This is beyond doubt."

The Russian Minister of Economic Development also pointed out, "The trade balance significantly enhances stability. Our trade volume is roughly balanced: sometimes China exports more to us, and sometimes we export more to China."

According to TASS, on September 28, Maxim Reshetnikov, Russia's Minister of Economic Development, stated that exempting Chinese citizens from visa requirements will have a positive impact on the comprehensive economic relations between Russia and China.

He said, "Based on President Putin's decision, we are developing corresponding measures for Chinese tourists. This is a responsible move, and I believe it will have a positive impact on the comprehensive development of our bilateral cultural and economic relations."

He noted that due to the continuous development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation at all levels, Russia and China have great potential for cooperation. He thanked the Chinese leadership for making this important decision to exempt Russian tourists from visas.

He emphasized that the tourism exchanges between China and Russia are large in volume and have stable growth. The highest record was set in 2019, reaching 4.2 million people. In 2024, the relevant indicator reached 2.8 million, double that of 2023. In 2025, the momentum remained strong, with 1.4 million people in the first half of the year, an increase of 20% compared to the same period in 2024.

Reshetnikov emphasized, "This is due to the timely measures taken by our department, including the launch of group tours without visas and an electronic visa system for Chinese tourists. To improve travel conditions, the maximum stay period for electronic visas was extended to 30 days, and the validity period of the visa was extended to 120 days as of July this year."

The visa exemption policy for Russian citizens traveling to China came into effect on September 15. (Translated by Tong Shiqun)
