Zelenskyy said Ukraine has reached a new military aid agreement with European allies

As nearly four years have passed since Russia launched its aggressive war, President Zelenskyy said on Sunday that Kyiv has signed new energy and military aid agreements with European allies, but he did not disclose details.

Ukraine is striving to gain more support from its allies to resist Russian attacks and air raids on energy systems, while facing pressure from the United States to reach an agreement through negotiations to end the conflict that began on February 24, 2022.

Zelenskyy wrote on X. "In Munich, we reached an agreement to complete specific agreements for providing energy and military aid to Ukraine from now until February 24."

On Friday, after a meeting attended by more than a dozen European leaders in Munich, Zelenskyy expressed hope for new support, especially in terms of anti-aircraft missiles.

Zelenskyy added, "I thank our partners for their willingness to help us, and we look forward to all equipment being delivered as soon as possible."

Russian attacks on major cities like Kyiv have destroyed a large part of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, causing power outages for millions of residents during the severe winter.

Zelenskyy added that Russia fired about 1,300 attack drones, 1,200 guided bombs, and dozens of ballistic missiles at Ukraine in the past week.

The mayor of Kyiv, Klychko, said on the Telegram platform on Sunday that about 1,600 buildings still had no heating after a large-scale attack by Russia on Kyiv on Thursday.

Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy network have triggered the most severe energy crisis in the country since Moscow launched its offensive in February 2022, with hundreds of thousands of families losing heating and electricity in freezing temperatures sometimes below minus 20 degrees Celsius.

It will be four years since Russia invaded Ukraine, and European leaders do not hold hope for a ceasefire in recent times. They generally believe that Russia has no intention to end the war, and current negotiations are just a strategy to gain time to continue fighting.
