Ukraine's Foreign Ministry appealed to foreign soldiers not to participate in the Red Square parade. Due to drone attacks, four Moscow airports were forced to close.

In Moscow, Russian President's Aide Ushakov said on May 6 that 29 foreign leaders would attend the upcoming World War II Victory Day commemorative events to be held in Moscow in the coming days. The commemorative activities will last from May 8 to 11, and the traditional annual parade will be held on Red Square on May 9.

Ushakov said that armies from 13 countries will participate in the parade alongside Russian troops, military vehicles, and weapon systems. He mentioned that some American World War II veterans are expected to attend, but it remains unclear whether any American officials will join, despite an invitation having been sent by the Kremlin to the US ambassador to Russia.

Earlier, Russian officials stated that air defense forces destroyed Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow in the second consecutive night attack, resulting in all Moscow airports being closed for several hours.

Moscow Mayor Sobyanin said on social media that at least 19 Ukrainian drones approaching Moscow from "different directions" were destroyed without causing significant damage or casualties. The Federal Air Transport Agency of Russia said that flights at all four Moscow airports were temporarily suspended for several hours on Tuesday to ensure air safety. Some regional airports were also shut down.

In addition, Moscow police warned that the use of all drones, including helicopters, drones, and model aircraft, would be prohibited in the capital, and announced that the police had the authority to use weapons to prevent their flight.

Kremlin spokesperson Peskov criticized on Tuesday that the drone attack indicated Kyiv's desire to continue the war.

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry appealed to foreign soldiers not to participate in the Red Square parade, a move with complex political intentions. Russia will hold the World War II Victory Day commemoration on May 9, which is a remembrance of history and a tribute to victory. Inviting multiple countries to participate highlights its emphasis on the history of the anti-fascist war. Ukraine's action is clearly intended to disrupt Russia's normal commemorative activities through public opinion pressure, showcasing its opposition to Russia from the side, while attempting to influence other countries' positions in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
