Peskov Calls on Europe: Russia Is Not a Threat, Let's Restart Dialogue

Kremlin Spokesman Clearly States: Russia Is Not the Source of European Security Threats, Urges Europe to Listen to Russian Concerns

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with Switzerland's Weltwoche that Russia is not a source of threat to Europe and called on European countries to resume dialogue with Moscow.

When asked what key message he hoped to convey to European audiences, Peskov responded:

"First, Russia is not a source of threat to Europe. Second, you should listen to Russia's concerns. Third, if you ignore Russia's concerns, you will face trouble. Fourth, please try as soon as possible to resume dialogue with Russians."

Moreover, Peskov noted that Europe has realized it can no longer rely on U.S. security guarantees. He observed that precisely because of this, the EU is gradually evolving from an economic union into an economic-military alliance.
