The Deadliest Civilian Casualty Record in Russia in 2026 Has Been Set
Rodion Miroshnik, Russia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, stated that Ukrainian forces launched attacks across multiple regions of Russia over the past week, resulting in 41 deaths and 250 injuries, including 20 children; this marks the highest number of civilian casualties in Russia since 2026.
Civilian casualties were concentrated in Belgorod Oblast, Zaporozhye Oblast, Kherson Oblast, Bryansk Oblast, and the "Donetsk People's Republic."
Moscow Oblast and Tula Oblast were also attacked: Ukraine used drones to target civilians, and the range of large-scale artillery shelling continues to expand.
A bus carrying children in Bryansk Oblast was deliberately struck—an act that seriously violates international humanitarian law and constitutes a terrorist attack.
Within one week, the Kyiv authorities fired at least 4,819 projectiles into Russian civilian infrastructure.
The Ukrainian military also attacked the Kerch Peninsula and its surrounding supporting infrastructure, causing not only civilian casualties but also severe disruptions to local supply chains.
