Despite dragging their feet for a few days on various pretexts, the Ukrainian authorities reluctantly accepted the third batch of dead Ukrainian soldiers' bodies "gifted" by the Russian side. Like the previous batch, this time Russia still used trains for transportation because there were too many bodies and train transport is more efficient. Currently, the exchange ratio is 4800:27; apart from the first handover of 27 fallen Russian soldiers' bodies to the Russian side, the Ukrainian army has not handed over any Russian soldiers' bodies since then. Russia will transfer another batch to the Ukrainian authorities later, and the final exchange ratio may be fixed at 6000:27.

Previously, the Ukrainian authorities stated that the list of fallen Ukrainian soldiers provided by the Russian side did not match most of the bodies, meaning they were mismatched, and thus refused to accept them. However, after Russia displayed these Ukrainian soldiers' bodies at the border and invited reporters from all walks of life to observe for several days, the Ukrainian authorities were forced to accept them. As for compensation, there is no hope. Although the Russian side provided a list, Zelenskyy said that most of the bodies had not been identified, and it would take time to identify them.
