Reference News website reported on June 13 that TASS reported on June 12 that the US Special Envoy for Ukrainian Affairs, Keith Kellogg, said that the United States hopes that Russia and Ukraine will achieve a ceasefire on the contact line and reach a peace agreement to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

Kellogg said at a forum hosted by the German Marshall Foundation in Brussels: "We hope for a ceasefire on the spot: whoever occupies where, that territory belongs to them. This is not legal recognition, but factual recognition. Then both sides exchange children and prisoners of war and achieve a long-term ceasefire, which is beneficial for both Ukraine and Europe."
