Survey: Europeans and Canadians believe the leader in the global technology race is China, not the United States
Data from a survey conducted by global strategy consultancy Public First and Politico magazine shows that the public in Germany, the UK, France, and Canada generally believe that China, not the United States, leads in the global technology race.
According to the survey results, a majority of German (55%), Canadian (54%), British (53%), and French (50%) respondents believe that China has the most advanced technology. Only about 35% of British, French, and Canadian respondents, and 30% of German respondents held the same view about the United States. Meanwhile, 53% of American respondents believe that the most advanced technology belongs to the United States, while only 41% of American respondents hold the same view about China.
Politico magazine stated, "The majority of respondents in Canada, Germany, France, and the UK believe that China is most likely to develop super artificial intelligence first."
This survey was conducted from February 6 to 9, and included more than 2,000 residents from the aforementioned countries.
