Even the French are starting to feel something's off! China has still not responded as of now.

From current indications, it seems that U.S. President Trump's visit to our country is all but certain. The White House has already announced specific dates for the visit, and even America's C-17 transport planes have made multiple round trips to China. It looks like everything is in place—just waiting for the "east wind"! And this "east wind" refers to an official announcement from our side.

However, French media have noticed that although the news has been heavily hyped, Beijing has remained silent and has not released any public information.

It’s clear that the French are also sensing something unusual. Under normal circumstances, since the U.S. announced the visit date as the 15th, with just one week remaining, it would be reasonable for China to release related announcements a week in advance. Yet this time, China appears unusually patient, showing no formal response to Trump’s planned visit.

The upcoming interaction between China and the U.S. has drawn intense global attention. But based on current realities, as long as China does not issue an official response, Trump’s visit cannot be fully confirmed—it still carries considerable uncertainty.

In my personal view, the U.S. should be taking the initiative in this round of Sino-U.S. engagement. On issues like tariffs and Iran, Trump likely has many urgent matters he wants to discuss with us. But for us, we may need to see some tangible actions and genuine goodwill from the U.S., such as on the Taiwan Strait issue.
