The Wall Street Journal reports that the leaders of the United States and China may discuss issues related to artificial intelligence during their summit on May 14–15.
The media outlet said that the two countries plan to explore various risks associated with AI development, including unpredictable behaviors of neural networks, applications of autonomous military intelligent systems, and the potential threat of launching cyberattacks using open-source high-performance AI models.
The Wall Street Journal pointed out that both the United States and China are concerned that the race among nations to develop increasingly advanced AI technologies could ultimately lead to a major crisis no single country can handle.
