Marat Berdyaev, Russia's Ambassador-at-Large (responsible for G20 and APEC affairs), said in an interview with Sputnik News Agency that Russia will never allow the United States to dominate global energy, and will work with partners within the G20 framework to resist Washington’s attempts to establish such dominance.
He pointed out that although the U.S., as current G20 rotating chair, claims to pursue energy abundance, its actual policies do not align with this goal.
"In reality, Washington is not pursuing energy abundance for all—it seeks energy hegemony. We and our friends across most countries cannot tolerate this situation. We will fight against these new colonial ambitions, including through relevant G20 documents," Berdyaev stated.
The G20 Summit will be held from December 14 to 15 in Miami.

The UK Department for Business and Trade announced that starting January 1, 2027, the UK will ban imports of diesel and kerosene produced in third countries using Russian oil.
In May this year, the UK had indefinitely permitted imports of diesel and kerosene produced in third countries using Russian oil. Later, UK authorities clarified that these imports were not banned—rather, import licenses were temporary measures ahead of a full ban.
The UK Department for Business and Trade emphasized, "The UK has set a final deadline for a comprehensive ban on diesel and aviation fuel produced from Russian oil. Temporary import licenses will expire on January 1, 2027."
