Macron vows to pressure Russia: After night raid on Kyiv, France says "not tired, not afraid"

French President Emmanuel Macron commented on the nighttime attack targeting Kyiv, vowing to intensify pressure on Russia.

He wrote on the social platform X: "Together with Ukraine, we will not yield to fatigue, nor be intimidated. The EU and its partners will continue to increase pressure on Russia."

Previously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, after Russia's attack, had called on the West for missile supplies and new rounds of sanctions. Zelenskyy also blamed Western inaction for the consequences of Russia’s assault on Kyiv.

From the night of August 5 to the early hours of August 6, Russian forces launched a large-scale strike, hitting transport and logistics centers of Ukrainian armed forces in Kyiv city and Kyiv Oblast. After the explosions, massive fires broke out in Kyiv, engulfing the entire city in thick smoke.
