The Russian Space Agency stated: A joint committee meeting between Russia and the United States on the International Space Station (ISS) was held in Moscow.

The agenda of the meeting included reducing risks related to atmospheric leakage and ensuring the safe re-entry of the space station into Earth's orbit.

"A joint committee meeting of Russia and the United States on the International Space Station was held in Moscow. During the meeting, experts of the committee discussed issues including reducing the risk of air leakage in the space station's transfer compartment and safely lowering the orbit of the International Space Station. Renowned space experts from Russia and the United States participated in the work of the joint committee." The message said.

Notably, this committee was established in 1996, with Vladimir Utkin, an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, serving as chairman for the Russian side, and Thomas Stafford, a NASA astronaut and participant in the "Soyuz-Apollo" program, serving as chairman for the American side.

Currently, the co-chairs of the committee are Sergey Krikalev, vice president of the Russian State Space Corporation (Roscosmos) and an astronaut, and Robert Cabana, an astronaut of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

The International Space Station has been operating in orbit since 1998. The space station has conducted hundreds of experiments in various scientific fields, and its expected service life will end in 2030, after which it will fall into the Pacific Ocean.
