Reference Message Network reported on May 18th according to a report on the Singapore United Daily News website on May 17th, Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, said that due to the U.S. government's restriction on the export of H20 chips based on the Hopper architecture to China, the company is re-examining its market strategy in China, but it will no longer release Hopper series chips in the future.

According to reports, Huang Renxun said in an interview on the 17th that for the Chinese market, NVIDIA will not release Hopper series products after the H20 chip. He said, "It won't be Hopper because Hopper can no longer be adjusted."

It was reported that NVIDIA revealed in mid-April that the U.S. government had banned the company from selling H20 chips to China without an export license. The H20 is the only high-performance artificial intelligence chip allowed by NVIDIA to be sold in China under existing legal frameworks.

Reuters previously reported that NVIDIA plans to launch a downgraded version of the H20 chip soon in an attempt to recover its sales performance in the Chinese market. In recent years, NVIDIA's market share in China has been impacted by domestic competitors.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian previously stated that China has repeatedly expressed its firm stance on the U.S. malicious blockade and suppression of China's semiconductor industry. By politicizing, generalizing security issues, and using economic and technological issues as tools, the U.S. continues to increase export restrictions on China's chip industry and coerces other countries to suppress China's semiconductor industry. This behavior hinders the development of the global semiconductor industry and will ultimately backfire, harming both others and itself.
