According to a message from the Kremlin on May 15, President Putin has taken on another responsibility, personally serving as the dean of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The main goal is to achieve breakthroughs in solving current difficulties in Russia, such as chip production, semiconductors, and rare earth refining.

Currently, Russia can only produce chips with a 350-nanometer process, purify rare earth elements to around 80%, and relies mainly on imports for semiconductors.
